Dick named VP at Bernhardt

Harland Dick promoted to Vice President/General Manager of Leather Upholstery

May 13, 2009 - LENOIR, NC - Bernhardt Furniture has promoted Harland Dick to vice president of leather upholstery. Dick joined Bernhardt in 2002 to oversee its leather business. Under his leadership, Bernhardt's leather program has seen incredible growth including double digit growth in the past 12 months.

In his new post, he will continue to position the Bernhardt leather upholstery business as a dominant source for traditional leather in the over $1,499 retail category. The promotion signifies that Bernhardt's leather upholstery is an important division in its own right - more than just a category of business within upholstery.

"Harland has been the driving source behind one of the most successful parts of our business over the past 7 years and this promotion is in recognition of how important he has been to our company and family," said Executive Vice President Alex Bernhardt, Jr.

Keeping up the family tradition, Dick is the son of Wayne Dick, a well respected veteran of the leather upholstery business - best known for his successful career with Thomasville Furniture.
