LENOIR, NC, April 7, 2008 — Occasional furniture should complement the rest of the furniture in a home. This Spring, Bernhardt introduces surface, storage, and office furniture right on trend with environmental and textural home interiors.
Emphasis is on materials with a natural look, authentic, and hand-crafted, often partnered with a modern shape. Designs range from the cleanest slab wood surfaces to sophisticated media room storage systems, all showing evidence of artisan handwork.
“There is a new level of sophistication in these occasional introductions,” says Heather Eidenmiller, director of brand development. “The designs may be refined modern or craftsman hammered and forged, but all include some form of evolved surface treatment.”
Some 30 skus in seven free-standing occasional groups include:
London 403. Sleek, high-end style, special effects materials. Cast steel with an aged brass surface treatment on the legs and domed stretchers, solar bronze inset glass tops, five tables. London Round Cocktail Table 403-015 (see here and photo sheet), W42 D42 H19, suggested retail $569.
Soho 404. Black light. Precise and minimal stainless steel forms with tempered black glass tops. Six tables, a console, and an artful 60-inch high display wall with black glass back panel.
