LENOIR, NC, October 20, 2008 –Today Bernhardt debuts Palomar, a collection composed of clean, freeflowing lines and curves with exotic, organic wood veneers.

“These designs are softened and meditative without loosing their crisp edge, both sophisticated and completely livable,” says Heather Eidenmiller, Bernhardt director of brand development. “We think Palomar will appeal to consumers who appreciate artful, pure design and the beauty of fine materials.”

The 53-piece whole home collection is presented in combinations of four exotic wood veneers, including flat-cut walnut and figured mozambique – each with a light and a dark finish that are sometimes intermingled for a two-tone effect, along with lacewood and zebrawood for dramatic large surfaces and accents.

Palomar showcases function, with several bunching and modular combinations that allow for custom configuration in specific spaces. One bedroom can be arranged to fill an entire room with panel bed, multiple modular piers, and door or drawer chests.

Subtle texture softens the look, especially in accent materials such as bronzed metal, creamy leather, light travertine stone and a unique pressed hydrangea thatch applied to select items. Laser-cut lines and organic patterns add to the contemporary feel.

SIGNATURE PIECES INCLUDE THESE SHOWN:

Palomar Upholstered Bed Wall 312-H09/F09/R09, (2)216, (2)BP16. Super restful. This bedroom unit draws no line between architecture and design. At 11.5 feet wide (including two nightstands) it will fill an empty room with gentle presence. The architectural headboard is a grid of walnut veneers framing panels of cream colored upholstered leather. Nightstands are designed in two distinct finish tones: Dark Cocoa finish on the outside of the case and Light Cocoa on the striking walnut veneered drawer fronts. W137.5 D86 H59.25, suggested retail $3,600 (King).

The sculptural shape of Palomar Dining Chairs have no need for ornamentation or bluster, their power lies in lean sculpted lines curved just so, and dark woods contrasted with soft creamy leather or fabric. Prelude to a whole new direction: quiet strength.

Palomar Dining Chair 312-544, W24.5 D26 H36.5, suggested retail $760. Palomar Dining Chair 312-542, W23 D24.75 H40.5, suggested retail $625, offered in a tone-on-tone fabric with woodgrain pattern, chair also available in an armless design.
