LENOIR, NC, October 20, 2008 –Today Bernhardt introduces a full range of furniture for working at home, including executive home office groupings and cool modern laptop stations that may be placed almost anywhere in the home.
Most every adult in the U.S. sometimes works from a home office. According to the SBA Office of Advocacy, approximately half of U.S. small business owners are home-based – the so-called SOHO (small office / home office) market of companies with fewer than 20 employees. In addition, almost 70 percent of all U.S. workers are mobile, moving between home and other sites to accomplish their work.
“The digital infrastructure has enabled a huge shift in the definition of office,” says Heather Eidenmiller, Bernhardt director of brand development. “Office today often resides where the intellectual capital resides - at home.”
This Fall, Bernhardt is bringing working furniture for every sort of home, Georgetown manse to urban loft.
Following the success of the company’s home office introductions in the Smithsonian Collection by Bernhardt this Spring, today the company debuts 17 executive office skus within three style groupings and three freestanding home office skus, all built with fine woods and veneers and fully outfitted for digital equipment and modern conveniences.
