LENOIR, NC, October 20, 2008 –Lush and rich wood treatments and forms are celebrated today with the debut of the Chateau Rustique collection by Bernhardt.
The 70-piece whole home collection, including home office, is energetic and full-flavored in tone and scale, influenced by the inventive woodcarving and beautiful hand-turnings of Flemish Baroque craftsmen. Several pieces show touches of Gothic revival in the arches, frames, dark metal strapping and indeed this collection would fit right in a country home with stained glass and tapestry.
“We think the structural clarity and high level of craftsmanship in this collection will answer consumers’ desire for artisanship and furnishings with a human touch,” says Heather Eidenmiller, Bernhardt director of brand development. Designs range from slender plank forms to voluptuous showpieces, presented in rustic cherry veneers in a Vintage Cherry finish with hand-worn appearance and a rub-through Black Hearth accent finish. Accents include leather panels with nailhead trim, striato travertine stone, highly detailed solid brass hardware and restoration glass.
AMONG SIGNATURE PIECES ARE THESE SHOWN:
Chateau Rustique Large China Cabinet 310-120/627 - Country estate chic. Masterful cherry veneer finishing lends casual ease and comfort to this grand display and storage center. Multi-level panels, weighty crown, corner pilasters, touch-lighted glass shelving, and fully outfitted storage cabinetry below. W90 D20 H92, suggested retail $4750.
Chateau Rustique Rectangular Cocktail Table 310-021 - The look of hand-hewn pine planking, studded dark metal strapping, and a centuries-old patina create a table that is as storied as it is simple. This design is also available in a console and end table. W56 D36 H19.5, suggested retail $665.
