LENOIR, NC, October 8, 2008 –A new and unexpected direction in sophisticated living debuts today at Bernhardt. Nine settings of new classics in upholstered seating design that may be freely interchanged, 70 gently hued and tactile plaincloths for individualized design choices, 20 cool occasional tables and accents with silvery leathers and blackened metals, all to serve those who want to live a relaxed life with sophistication – this is BERNHARDT INTERIORS.
This approach to finely-scaled,high design,customizable seating and mixed occasionals will be unique at retail. The collection is a good fit for consumers with an increasingly sophisticated design aesthetic and a growing preference for urban scaled living spaces that accommodate company and conversation.

BERNHARDT INTERIORS seating styles are neo-classic and transitional with subtle curves and tasteful details, designed to be mixed with flair and suitable for placing anywhere in the home.
A series of 70 plaincloths – including cottons, linens and velvets, will be available for custom order at no upcharge. All coverings exhibit soft, tactile surfaces and share a tight palette of hues like fog, beige, oceanmist and cream for harmonic mixing.
Occasional pieces include designs that accommodate both serving and seating, such as fully upholstered modern stool forms and metal cocktail ottomans with tightly-tufted silvery leather surfaces; stone pedestals, and surprisingly classic and refined metal/glass and wood designs.
