April 17, 2010 - LENOIR, NC - Few new woods will ever have the character of hand-hewn artisanal artifacts. These handcrafted mahogany designs come as close as one could possibly find, short of an antiques boutique.
The handmade artisan quality is real in Vintage Patina by Bernhardt. Random sized planks of plantation grown mahogany are hand-planed in a rippled craftsman fashion, then polished by warm hands that melt the French finishing wax into a silky surface. That’s authentic.
Vintage Patina designs are casual and sophisticated, with a nod to historic American classics from the time when all furnishings were individual and made by hand.
The 60-piece whole-home collection is offered in two finishes: a deep rich Molasses or an earthy midtone Tobacco finish. Design elements include balanced and symmetric stepped moldings, spare turned posts, blackened cast iron with brass tipping, antique mirror, leather inserts and burnished brass knobs and pulls.
