Baltimore Buffet

An American Empire sideboard in the Secretary’s conference room of the Smithsonian Institution Building serves as the inspiration for the Baltimore Buffet. The original sideboard, circa 1835, is from Baltimore, Maryland. This adaptation reveals a plethora of storage space with a unique arrangement of drawers, including a silverware insert displaying the Smithsonian Collection by Bernhardt emblem. Panel doors in figured walnut and white ash burl veneers are shown in a Heritage Brown finish, and the breakfront post collars are highlighted in a complementary black accent finish.
