HFN Magazine, the weekly publication that offers Home Furnishings News for Industry Design Makers, launched the first Awards of Excellence at the March 2009 Housewares Show in Chicago. The awards were in response to the conclusion that there was too much bad news in the home furnishings industry and that they needed to honor and create good news. Furniture and Tabletop were the next categories to be honored at the April International Home Furnishings Show in High Point, NC and the April Tabletop Show in NY. HFN plans to continue the award program honoring Lighting at the June Dallas Market and Area Rugs at the July Atlanta Market.
